Summer greetings 2017

Summer is here and most of us at the UCRS are soon going on vacation.

The spring term has been a highly productive period for us at the UCRS. During the spring term, we have organized six major international conferences on subjects as diverse as geopolitical thinking in post-Soviet fiction and gender politics in the Arctic. The term ended with an annual conference entitled "The Russian Revolution and Its Legacies: Taking Stock a Century Later" held in Tartu in early June. The conference was organized in collaboration with the University of Tartu and Kent within the framework of the three-year "TWINNING" project funded by the EU's "Horizon 2020" program. During the past term, a number of guest researchers from, among others, Ukraine, Canada, Estonia and Belarus have stayed at the Center. Finally, we have had an exciting and varied seminar program with researchers and practitioners who have held talks around various themes – from capitalism in Russian to party politics in modern Estonia.

Seminar program for the fall term will be uploaded on our website in August.

We at the Center want to thank everyone who has been involved in our activities in various ways and wishes everyone a nice and relaxing summer!
